I watched Almost Famous for the first time in several years. It wasn’t as awesome as I remember it being. They don’t even sing the best part of Tiny Dancer. It tells, instead of shows, for a start; starting with a most heinous crime is a really bad way to start so I won’t even go into the rest (it’s unoriginal and cliched).
It (again) ends on a happy note. We see them all happy and successful and contented. It wouldn’t sell so well if it showed the slow decline. Breakups and new marriages, getting an actual job, being super successful and having children – only for it to dissolve into nothingness leaving a slow and lonely death with only photographs and a memories as a reminder that life wasn’t always so shit. Then came age.
